Objectives: Improve international consensus on issues in Enterprise Modelling and
Enterprise Integration Technologies
Rationale:
-
insufficient understanding of the technology by the end-user community,
many conflicting solutions and terminology,
-
application of EI technology hampered by lacking business justification,
-
intensifying needs for EI technology through increasing emphasis on agile operation in
globally extended or virtual enterprises.
Method: The EI-IC initiative will identify barriers, propose solutions, communicate
results, and help to justify the technology to industry so that it can be moved profitably
from the international R&D community to broadly based implementation.
Dates:
-
identify major issues - early 1997
-
organise workshops with international experts (duration min. 3 days) and try to resolve or at
least reduce these issues (on the basis of the GERAM framework as proposed by the IFAC/IFIP
Task Force) - March - June 1997
-
results from the workshops will be presented in the concluding conference (ICEIMT'97) -
October 28-30, 1997
-
Conference proceedings, publications of additional papers and specific workshops for
information dissemination - early 1998
Proposed Workshop Themes:
