CIMOSA

A Primer on key concepts, purpose and business value

9. Annex

9.2 Standardisation of Enterprise Integration

CIMOSA Standardisation

CIMOSA has been the base for the European Pre-Standard for Enterprise Modelling, ENV 40 003 'CIM System Architecture Framework for Enterprise Integration'. which has been proposed by CEN TC 310/WG1. It is fully in line with the CIMOSA Modelling Framework. In addition, the document preENV 12204 : 'Constructs for Enterprise Modelling' will become European Pre-Norm.

Following agreements on national and European level and with active participation of AMICE a committee draft 'CD 14258 : Framework for Enterprise Integration' has been submitted to ISO TC 184/SC5/WG1.

Harmonisation with other standards and approaches to enterprise integration

The international IFAC/IFIP Task force to establish a generic enterprise framework is working on a common proposal GERAM to compare and to harmonise the development efforts for enterprise integration CIMOSA, GRAI and PERA.

In Germany, the DIN/QCIM Project has taken the initiative to map and harmonise the constructs of the modelling languages CIMOSA, IEM-IPK. STEP/Express and others.

The CIMOSA Integrating Infrastructure will be supported by a set of information technology entities, structured in Open Distributed Systems. Therefore the CIMOSA Integrating Infrastructure has been designed to be closely related to existing or emerging standards leading to complete platforms or to individual services :

  1. The ODP Reference Model standard which is in preparation within ISO
  2. platforms being considered as standards as OSF-DCE. incorporated in the 'Common Application Environment' X/Open
  3. elements of OSI Layer 7 such as MMS and FTAM or RDA

Work on standardisation of the integrating infrastructure for model execution support has been started in the European standardisation organisation as well .
